We've
yet to meet a child who didn't love cooking, especially when it involves getting
hands on with the food and tasting the end product. And we've yet to meet a parent
who didn't love watching their children's delight as they cook, learn and experience
new flavours and enjoy the fun of cooking. That's why we enjoy running our Family
Classes so much and why we run them during every school holiday. Please

BREAD
& PASTA: To
a child cooking is just about the closest thing to magic. You take some simple
ingredients, mix them together and, hey presto! you have ballooning bread or incredibly
elastic pasta. During
the day we'll make fresh bread and pasta, some to eat for lunch and some to take
home for later.
| We
love to get out on the deck, light the woodfired oven, rustle up pitta breads,
hummus, bowls of lovely fresh salads, skewer kebabs, roll koftas, grill fish and
bake desserts. Mediterranean Food is wonderfully entertaining and great fun for
familes We'll
teach loads of skills and techniques and make sure it's safe and great fun at
the same time. Family Mediteranean classes will be on the menu throughout the
summer
| HERBS
AND SPICES: Sweet
spices, savoury spices, fresh herbs; all great for bringing dishes to life and
encouraging creativity in young cooks. Today
we'll raid the spice drawer and the herb garden to learn about many different
flavours. We'll explore which spices work with what as we make spice rubs for
meat, sweet mixed spices for cakes, stir fries, our own curry paste and lots more.
| Baking
is the new rock and roll and cakes, cookies, sticky buns and lush puddings will
always be popular with children. Our Family Baking classes are an opportunity
to get stuck into the mixing bowl and create tea time treats and some delicious
savoury dishes. These
classes change with the seasons so look out for Easter and Christmas Baking classes
where we'll cook up traditional holiday treats. This
will be a busy day with plenty of goodies to take home.
