FROM DEVON COOKING SCHOOL
At
Manna From Devon we understand that food is a lot more than just fuel. Food feeds
our imagination, entertains us, reminds us of our history, reflects our family,
cements our friendships, underpins (or undermines) our health, nourishes our spirit
and defines our culture. If
we keep this in mind as we plan and prepare our food we come to understand why
it brings us pleasure so far beyond what we might expect of an energy source.
Food deserves time, respect and attention - and we provide these in lavish amounts
during our classes. We run cookery classes, demonstrations and tastings
in our purpose built cookery school, offering individuals and small groups the
chance to improve their cooking skills and knowledge; using the very finest local
produce from South Devon. Our workshops are designed to inspire, build
confidence and help you improve your culinary skills in a relaxed environment.
Small classes give you ample opportunity for hands on practice. In all
workshops we use use the finest local produce and emphasise the pleasure and benefits
of cooking in tune with the seasons using locally sourced ingredients..
Whether you want to become a better home cook or to benefit from the experience
of catering professionals, nutritionists and masters of wine; if you’re serious
about cookery (without being too serious) then one of the Manna from Devon courses
will be perfect for you. The
school is run by Holly and David Jones. Holly is a chef, food writer, consultant
and broadcaster. David is a baker, sourdough enthusiast, and team-building consultant. What
Our Customers say: - Just
thought I'd drop you a quick line to say thank you for a very enjoyable lesson
in all things fishy a couple of weeks ago. You'll be pleased to hear that all
my knives are sharp and that I bought, gutted, filleted, skinned and cooked a
couple of dabs on Friday!! They were delicious and Matt thinks the class was already
money well spent! Sally Molloy
- A
quick note to say thank you both so much for yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed my
tuition and can't believe how much bread we made. I felt I had learned a great
deal by the end of the day. I truly admire your energy and enterprise and I do
hope you do well with the cookery school - you certainly deserve to. Very best
wishes.............Anne
- I
wanted to thank you for such a wonderful days cooking on Thursday. I enjoyed every
single moment. I learnt so much and thanks to Holly's wonderful expertise and
teaching, I feel so much more confident buy, preparing and, of course, cooking
all types of fish. The way you run the days are just perfect .... Kate Dable
